It's a Hot Chocolate and Cup Cake kinda day ...

On the beach yesterday ... feeding the gulls!

Hey .... the sunshine’s missing from my day today! Not only that but someone’s left the freezer open and there’s a bitterly cold wind biting at my heels ..... it’s a brrrrrrr kind of day .... a hot chocolate and cup cakes kinda day. It's colder today than what it was yesterday!

That’s ok though .... I’m on a mission at the moment .... so many ideas, so many thoughts and not enough time to do them all justice! At least when the weather’s gloomy there’s no temptation to be walking in the waves when I should be focusing on being creative!

So much stuff in my head .... it NEEDS to come OUT!!!

We rambled a little later than usual today as Indy and Julia didn’t join us. Indy had a seizure last night and the vet suggested no walks for the next 24 hours until they determine what caused it. Poor Indy ... and poor Julia .... Indy means the world to her and Scott, he’s the closest thing they have to a child. The blood tests have revealed there’s a problem with his liver so he’s off to the specialist on Wednesday for an ultrasound scan. Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious.

They popped in to see us on their way home from the vet and Indy was full of bounce and bluster .... and very vocal! For a boy dog, he had an awful lot to say for himself .... even my hound couldn’t get a bark in edgeways! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at him being vocal ... the male lemmings in this house are SELDOM at a loss for words .... particularly the youngest one!
Love watching these guys ....

.... they get so noisy!
I have seagulls following me on the beach even when I DON’T have treats for them .... they’ve obviously cottoned on that I’m the dilly blonde that feeds them most days. Much to Gareth’s annoyance I have this flotilla of seagulls floating along behind me. I think they sense he doesn’t like them but they’re not deterred by that in the least. Food is food is food and no shell-skimming, ball-kicking, stone-throwing young man is going to stop them from grabbing a free meal.

Gareth and I see the seagulls from radically different perspectives. A quote by Richard Bach comes to mind What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly”. I find the seagulls fascinating .... their flock mentality, the hierachy within the flock, the boldness of some and not others, but Gareth sees them as pests, nuisances - to be chased away rather than encouraged.
Nico ... trying to take her ball ... and she's being so gentle taking it off him.

Love the Oyster Catchers reflections!
It’s quite an appropriate quote seeing as Richard Bach is the author of Jonathan Livingstone Seagull ... a story about a seagull that flies for the love of flying rather than merely to find food.
Just a thought .... maybe I can teach the seagulls how to dive-bomb Gareth .... stick food in his hair or something.

We have our own visits to make to the vet every day at the moment too. Shimmer is still in the vet’s care ... it’s been 10 days since the accident but she’s definitely making progress. She had to go under general anaesthetic again to replace the feeding tube as it got blocked but she’s purring when we visit and moving around in her cage a lot. She used to be such a heavy kitty but has lost weight with having to be fed through a tube. We’re hoping she’ll come home sometime this week.
For a moment on the beach today, I thought I was seeing Sebastian ... but this is Benji and he's 9 years old.

We certainly haven’t saved on the cat food bill whilst she’s been at the vet though ... Tiger has missed her immensely and has been EATING for TWO .... what is it with the males in this house ... they’re all WEIRD!

Hmmmm .... should I go and pinch the treats .... or not ......

The bunny was below the view site today.
