... every light I ignite shines BACK at me

What is she asking me?

When life gets tough and I feel overwhelmed, all I need do is look at what I’ve created and who I’ve become ... and believe in it. I am but one little candle but every light I ignite shines back at me ..... stronger and brighter than before. The rays of sunshine that touch my life touch all those around me too. It’s impossible not to feel the benefit of every good thing I put out into this world .... it always comes back in one form or another.

Pink clouds as the sun tries to put in an appearance.
It’s been one of those wet and woeful days today, windy too ... the type of day that always brings Wellywood to mind. Our morning ramble was a cool and damp affair, but even in the midst of all those grey and dark clouds there was a beam of light that wouldn’t play dead!!  The rainbow that started pale and ghostly became bright and vibrant ... but only for a fleeting moment in time ... but WOW .... in that moment .... it FILLED my world with wonder!

The beginning of our rainbow.
Julia put it quite succintly when she said the Pot of Gold was at the end of that rainbow. The end of that rainbow was sitting in our Bay and yes, OUR village IS that Pot of Gold .... it’s an awesome place to live .... my little bit of paradise.

Well said Julia!!
.... and then it got brighter and more vibrant!

This little guy was braver than the rest - he came back
time and time again for more treats.
Those little seagulls on my beach have more of a brain than what I’ve given them credit for. They took the pellets out of my hand today when I held them up in the air. Many fluttering wings but only a few brave gulls ... one in particular ... got more of a meal than the others. This one was quite fearless ... coming back time and time again for a tasty treat.

Maybe they’ve realised that taking the treats from my hand is safer than tangling with the hound on the sand ... after all, she’s a lot bigger than what they are.

There weren’t many hounds on the beach this morning ... the rain sure put paid to that. We didn’t even see Harry ... or Fergus ... or Abi. After bidding adieu to Julia and Indy, we ran into Amanda and Tim with their 2 retrievers ... Maluka and Mia are their names, I think. One of the retrievers ... I think it's Maluka .... loves the waves as much as my hound and fetches ball after ball after ball.  Only tennis balls in her case though .... not rugby balls like my mad mongrel.

Amanda and Tim seem to have the same routine as us .... walk the hounds on the beach,  reward themselves with a daily fix then walk the hounds home. They don’t walk quite as far as we do but not many people do. My hound’s the fortunate one ... or is she ... maybe I should see myself as the fortunate one, having the privilege of rambling far and wide everyday.

I just LOVE the colours of Autumn
What I really love about Autumn ... apart from the gloriously clear weather we’ve been having ... are the rich autumn colours of the leaves that I trample underfoot. Every road that we walk is a smorgasbord of colour as the trees undress themselves for winter.

Yep .... winter is definitely on it’s way ... that nip in the air in the morning was MORE than a nip today.  I even wore a long-sleeved T .... with my shorts. Staying dry on my rambles isn’t an option - something to do with a wet hound that’s constantly shaking itself dry. I prefer to have wet legs rather than wet long pants - the legs dry quicker!

See ... there it is again ... that little ray of sunshine in my day!
Oyster Catchers in flight ... pity it's a bit blurred.
