Ho hum ... the necessity of household chores!

My beautiful bay at 6.30 this morning!

Ho hum ..... coming back from my rambles to the tedious necessity of household chores takes the shine out of my day sometimes.  I know ... household chores are necessary ... but sometimes they’re endless!  I no sooner have an empty sink and sparkling glasses in the cupboard and one of the lemmings will appear ... from the murky gloom of their bedroom .... to have breakfast.  They do this with regular monotony at various times of the day .... yes, breakfast can happen in the afternoon too.

Let’s not even get started on the laundry .... it has a nasty habit of re-generating itself with alarming alacrity ..... and as for socks .... I’m sure we have a feline thief with a sock fetish.  After having seen the YouTube video of the cat who steals laundry of washing lines I’m convinced that villain’s moved to our neighbourhood!

But I digress .... the sun was shining this morning .... I had a shadow, the hound had a shadow,  even Gav had a shadow!  There were no raindrops on roses ... only early morning dew drops on agi’s.  The peace at that time of the morning is blissful .... the world is still waking ... the hustle and bustle of the day hasn’t fully begun yet ... I love it!

Funnily enough the level of sunshine in the day does seem to have an effect on the lemmings too ... rising times are earlier .... moods are brighter .... eyes are open when they stumble down the stairs.  I must admit, the oldest one surprised me this morning ... we left to meet Julia at 6.45 for the hounds morning ramble .... and, after leaving her at the bottom of her road at 8am, we ambled back along the beach to find the oldest lemming swimming in the bay!  Even the hound was shocked!
A 'SHOCKED' looking hound!

We’re even rambling too early in the morning for our local coffee haunt .... they aren’t open before 8 .... how are we meant to survive these early mornings without our daily fix!  Poor Julia is having to head off to work without the necessary sustenance. Fortunately for us, by the time we’d said our good-byes to Julia and Indy ... and walked back on the beach in the waves .... the door was open and the addiction-fixing machine was in motion .... Yay!
Indy hurtling down the beach to greet us!

Living in a country that experiences 4 seasons in the space of 4 minutes means I really need to understand more about the weather ..... and I really need to learn how to determine which direction the wind is blowing in.  I’m spatially challenged from that perspective ... navigation and orientation have never been my strong-points.

I’m your best bet as a traveling companion if you have all the time in the world and don’t mind getting lost.  You’ll discover more places than what you could possibly imagine .... all unintentional of course.
He's such a good model .... so photogenic!

Gav, and Julia, only need to go somewhere once and, in most instances, can find their way back there again.  They have a built-in GPS ... something that’s sadly lacking in yours truly.
It's his own toy that he's pinched of her ... she LOVES his toy
.... even more than her rugby ball!

When I first arrived in this country Gav, being well aware of my diabolical navigation skills, provided me with a GPS .... it’s been worth its weight in gold as whenever I’m done with exploring I just plug in “Home” and it brings me right back to the front door.
.... but she soon got it back!

Hmmmm ...... just had a thought about that .... what would I have done if he’d altered that “Home” address  ........

It wouldn't be the beach without a log of some kind to carry
Tamaki Drive .... a beautiful drive into the city

The morning's sunshine is rapidly disappearing!
