Spread the Sunshine World ... it’s in short supply down here in the arse end of the world today!!

My beach ... at 9 this morning |
I’m looking for the magic in my less than sunshiny day today ... I have to
EXPECT the unexpected and be amazed! I like that word
“EXPECT” ..... it’s
definitive ... it’s a
belief .... there’s nothing grey about it,
unlike the weather. Chocolat finds a log on the beach and she
EXPECTS me to throw it ... there’s no doubt in her mind that I will. The fact that the log is huge and weighs twice as much as she does is irrelevant ....
it’s a log ... it’s on her beach .... she
EXPECTS it to be thrown ....

A branch she found on the beach today |

Mad dogs chasing sticks! |
I
EXPECT to find the sunshine at some point today and I
EXPECT this wind to go away!!! It has been blowing gales ....
and raining .... and as I watched the seagulls flying backwards in the wind I couldn’t help but be amazed at their tenacity .... time and time again they’d launch themselves into the air ... only to be swept backwards to their point of departure by the ferocious winds. Did it deter them ... not on your nelly ..... they just launched off again into the wind .... maybe their brains are smaller than I thought or maybe they
EXPECT to reach their destination eventually. I nearly lost all my doggie pooh bags too .... the wind whips them out of your hand and there’s no point in trying to catch them ... they’re dancing with abandon, relishing their freedom from the confines of my backpack!!!
I'm amused that when the wind's blowing like it is today the only people
on the beach are me and my friends and their hounds .....
is it dedication or is it insanity? Maybe it's because we've got
NUTTY dogs who
EXPECT to swim in the sea every day .... or maybe
 |
The weather here is so changeable .. this is the beach 30 mins later after the rain... and then it changed again .... |
it's because we
EXPECT to see the sun shine sometime during our walk ...
or maybe it’s because we’re not quite sane. Whatever the reason though, my day is always so much better when the hound and I have
walked on the sand, got our feet wet ... yes, shoes and all .... and, just for a change, fought the wind. The added bonus for me is the smile Chocolat brings to the faces of passers-by ...
SHE’S JUST SPREADING OUR SUNSHINE!
She needs to .......... according to Weather Watch we’ve got 10 weeks of this windy weather ahead of us ... no evidence at all of a repeat anytime soon of the stunning calm weather we had last week.
Grrrrrrr .......... this is NOT Welly Town!!
