Vim, Vigour and Vitality!

I write my blog for upliftment ...  mostly mine ... and to remind myself of the things that make me smile. My blog is my interpretation on the vagaries of life and their impact on me and those who inhabit my heart.

One of those that inhabit my heart is causing distraction of the highest order at the moment.
Unusual to see TWO Tug-boats heading across the bay ... and close in-shore too.
I returned from my ramble with a mind brimful to overflowing of things I need to accomplish this week. I head for the shower and then sit down to dry my hair. As I’m sitting there lost in the kaleidoscope of thoughts in my head, a random movement in the mirror catches my eye.

It’s the fur-ball. She’s up on the bed. She’s making mincemeat of one of the Harrods Teddy Bears!

It’s too comical for words. A black and white fur-ball standing on it’s hind legs like a grizzly bear, lashing out at an inert teddy. Teddy’s NOT putting up a fight. He’s chosen to play DEAD as it seems to be the safest option. He’s been leapt on, clawed and bitten all over and left looking rather disheveled as the fur-ball leaps off the bed looking for the next opponent.

She is abuzz .... full of vim, vigour and vitality!
I wish I had just a fraction of her energy.

It made me smile, bought me back to reality.

I’d woken late this morning and tried hard to IGNORE the repeated cacophony of the alarm. I am tired .... dog-tired. There’s an impatient hound waiting upstairs though for the signal to descend  .... and for the day to begin. She knows it’s not the weekend. She knows it’s time for our daily ramble. She knows I’m late and she also knows the sun’s shining!

Leaving later did have it’s advantages. We caught up with Keith ... and Bessie .... as they headed home from their morning run. Bessie had been in the waves and gave us an impromptu shower as we stood chatting. We stopped to say hello to the lady who owns the tabby cat on the corner. I didn’t realise her tabby is the brother of the Library cat that’s gone missing. She thinks the Library cat’s dead.

The climb to the view-site seemed steeper than usual.
I’m sure someone re-arranged the roads whilst I was sleeping.

I needed my caffeine fix this morning!

Poor Julia had to go without hers. She's going for a scan and was under doctor’s orders to drink copious amounts of water.
Water just DOESN’T have the same punch as caffeine.

The hound’s rugby ball appears to be on it’s last legs. Sam’s earnest attempts to kill it have finally succeeded. It has a rather large hole in it that allows any and all air to escape, and copious amounts of water to flood in. I’m surprised it hasn’t sank yet!  Despite the hole and despite having no buoyancy it still manages to stay afloat for the hounds to retrieve.  I’m quite expecting for it to sink one of these days and we’ll have one or other hound swimming round in confused circles trying to find it.
She doesn't mind that HER rugby ball has a hole in it .... she'll just have Sam's, thanks very much!
It’s time to find a new rugby ball .... I wonder which team we should  support this time?

Caught it with a DROP of water on the end of it's beak!

They're trying to find the remnants of the bread that the ducks were eating .... TYPICAL Labs!

I'm the MASTER of distraction ...

Bright clouds beyond the houses this morning
Shimmer, the cat who lived”, was back at the vet today for a check-up. She’s doing well, has actually GAINED weight ... which is awesome news considering she’d lost nearly a kilo in body mass since the accident. Thank goodness she was carrying a little extra flab! Next Wednesday she’ll go in for the day so Martin can anaesthetise her, remove the wire and see how the jaw is healing. She MIGHT even have the feeding tube removed!

I've named this one "Little Hitler" as he bosses them all around.
I don’t think ANYONE can understand how time-consuming feeding a kitty every hour can be unless they’ve ever had to do it themselves. We’ve been doing it for the last 2 weeks and my productivity, from a work perspective, has been a big fat ZILCH! No sooner do you get involved in doing something than an alarm in your head rings to say “FEED the cat” ... and off you go. I have NEVER had to watch the clock as much as I have alately. Roll on next Wednesday!!
This one's cute

My flock

To be fair it’s been a combination of Cayl’s, Dave, Callum and I doing the feeding duty, but when they’re all at Uni the onus is on me and I’m NOT the best timekeeper in the world .... especially when I get involved in something.

Yep ... it's that manic hound again
I’m the MASTER of distraction .... anything and everything can and will derail my good intentions. I even get distracted writing my blog ... I’ll stop to check the spelling of a word or the author of a quotation and something will catch my eye and off I’ll go on a tangent. It’s very counter-productive ... BUT just so ADDICTIVE .... and I LEARN so much!!

Well I THINK I learn so much .... there are others, no names mentioned, who might not agree.

The log keeps disappearing in the waves
This rain is being counter-productive too ... it makes everything WET ... and SLIPPERY!! Yes yes I know ... I get wet most days ... but that’s usually just my legs and feet. With the rain we’ve been having these past few days it’s ALL of me that’s getting wet .... and COLD! Even the hound’s feeling the cold ... the hosepipe is one of her LEAST favourite parts of returning home.

Because the weather’s been so inclement Julia’s been leaving Indy indoors whilst she’s at work. We’ve been popping over at lunchtime to let him out for a widdle .... and have a game of tug-of-war .... all in the interests of product-testing the quality of the toys Julia buys for him of course. Yesterday he wasn’t interested in watering the garden but today he sure was .... I thought it would never end .... the stream was endless!
Gorgeous reflections!
My hound LOVES visiting Indy  .... he has so many toys and she gets to play with them all ... AND take them off him. Today it was a multi-coloured triangle that they tested .... it passed their quality-control test with flying colours. I would have had far more successful photos of their product testing if they’d been outside ... but it was raining .... and the phone isn’t quite up to the challenge of taking photos inside.

Tomorrow is a new day ... hopefully a more productive day ... but whatever it brings, I just KNOW it’ll make me smile!
The beautiful multi-coloured Rosea ...

.... and there he goes!
