"In a gentle way, you can shake the world."

In a gentle way, you can shake the world.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

The "supermoon" at 6.45 this morning.

Rainbows ... rugby balls ... and nope, NOT reflections in my bay. The so-called “Supermoon” has spawned high tides which the hound loves .... she was in her element charging in and out of the waves today ... but high tides don’t do much for reflections!

We did get a rainbow this morning though ... and what an awesome rainbow it was ... so vivid and so wide! There was a second rainbow too but it was hardly visible ... and then only for the teeniest of time. Rainbows are ever present in my life in so many ways.

Another view of the rainbow .. the other end
Rugby balls are ever-present in my day too ... a ramble would not be a ramble without the rugby ball ... unless of course there’s a log to carry. Even when there’s a log to carry though, the ball has to come with us to the beach ‘cause walking to the beach without a ball in the mouth is just not cricket.
NOT my hairy legs!

The fact that the rugby ball ends up in the back-pack when there are large logs on the beach is irrelevant ... it STILL HAS to be taken to the beach. Fortunately there aren’t any large logs on the beach right now so the rugby ball is firmly entrenched in her mouth for the duration of our ramble .... until we head home. That’s her LEAST favourite part ... it takes us TWICE the time to get home as what it takes us to REACH the beach .... the slothful Labrador comes to the fore.

We met the friendly Bandit on the beach again today ... he herded the hound for a while but then other playmates came along so he raced up and down the beach with them. Dogs sort out their pecking order on the beach so easily ... each soon learn their place. When Chocolat felt Bandit was getting a bit rough with Niko, she rounded on Bandit snarling and growling until he left Niko alone. Fascinating role-play to watch.

Niko and Bandit
Shimmer ‘the kitty that lived’ came home from the Vet yesterday .... sans one of her 9 lives. She still has a feeding tube in and has to be fed every hour .... it’s like having a newborn baby in the house!! We’ll be living by the clock for the next two weeks or so until her jaw heals and the feeding tube is removed. There’s a very real danger of asphyxiation should she regurgitate any of her food as with the jaw wired shut she can’t open her mouth. Hence the small liquid meals and being fed every hour - it’s quite something.

We were playing nursemaid today ... not just to Shimmer but to Indy too. Julia returned to work and, understandably, was worried about Indy being on his own all day .... especially if he has another seizure. He was delighted to see me when I popped over this morning ... couldn’t believe his luck that someone had come to play tug-of-war with him! I popped back at lunch-time with Gareth, and the two of them had another tug-of-war and cuddle outside.

He’s such a bouncy full-of-life hound .... it’s hard to accept that he has a life-threatening illness ... hopefully the biopsy results will provide clarity as to it’s severity. He’s not happy about having his freedom on the beach curtailed though ... no hoovering ... poor Indy!
I don't want to go home yet!

I'm sure these two are a pair .. they're always together!

Manic hound.
