Two days of glorious sunshine and then winter comes back with a vengeance .... and with rain. It’s not enough that it’s now dark when I leave at 6.30 because of daylight saving, BUT it’s COLD and it’s RAINING too!!
Someone, somewhere had better have an explanation.
I WANT summer!
Yep, the demented hound in her comes to the fore when we sight the moon! |
Bob Marley said “Some people feel the rain, others just get wet.”
.... I’m definitely one of those folk that FEEL the rain and love to dance in it.
That applies to life too. I feel the pain of broken friendships, promises not kept, difficulties faced but it doesn’t stop me from dancing.
Life CAN sometimes short-change us but it doesn’t have to stop us in our tracks.
On a more positive note, we’ve found somewhere to move to AND it’s even closer to the village than what we are now. Minor snag - we have less than 3 weeks to pack and move ..... hmmmmm.
Let’s not pretend I have nothing else to do. I’m already picking up extra hours in the shop at the moment due to one my fellow staff-members reducing her hours. I also have 3 markets already booked for this month and 4 booked for November. It’s the time of year when markets are at their busiest. I can see I’ll be burning the midnight-oil to ensure I finish orders on time and have enough stock.
Housework? ... Laundry? ..... what’s that??
The Pukeko weren't comfortable with the Swan coming near them. |
CAFFEINE .... I’m going to NEED caffeine .... bucketfuls of it!!!
One Pukeko chased away, two to go! |
I’m sure seeing the Moon in my morning sky addles my brain. It’s not supposed to be there, it’s supposed to be heading back to the other side of the world. As the moon disappeared over one horizon so the sun was trying to appear over the other. Small problem for the sun though ... clouds in the way.
It HAS managed to break through in periodic bursts during the day but it’s been a day of contrasts. Moon AND sun in my morning sky ..... rain AND sunshine .... warm AND cold .... all brightened though by the most exquisite rainbow over the bay early this morning.
Carol and I rambled at Waiatarua later than usual. Tomorrow is the second anniversary of her mother’s passing and she attended Mass for her this morning. I know from my own perspective that I’m always more emotional around the time of year of my father’s death, and Carol’s no different. She needed our ramble at Waiatarua this morning .... and SO did Sam.
It didn't take long for him to get muddy! |
“You can close your eyes to the things you don’t want to see, but you can’t close your heart to the things you don’t want to feel.”
~ Johnny Depp
My overly-addled brain managed to forget the camera at home ... I hadn’t put it in my backpack after downloading the photos of the rainbow this morning. The hounds were so confused. We arrived at Waiatarua, let them out the car, threw their rugby balls onto the grass
.... and then put them BACK in the car.
The look of disbelief on my hound’s face was classic .... it would have made a brilliant pic
.... BUT I DIDN’T HAVE MY CAMERA!!
