White and Milk chocolate mousse

I am SO ready for the sun to be heading back to my part of the world. Even the cyclists going past us in the morning have lights attached to their helmets ... I’m not sure if it’s for them to see where they’re cycling or for us pedestrians to see them! It’s high time the sun started rising BEFORE I get my caffeine fix not AFTER!

Picking up doggie doos when it’s dark can be a tad tricky ... especially if she chooses to deposit it in the area outside of the street light’s coverage.

The fierce tides last night deposited HUGE amounts of seaweed and debris on the beach this morning. Plenty of logs and sticks for the hound to choose from.

The rugby ball eventually ended up in my backpack as I got tired of trying to persuade her to leave all the logs on the beach for the OTHER hounds. The look on her face told me she could see there WEREN’T any other hounds on the beach except her and Sam .... and she was right. The overcast weather had kept MOST of the other ‘humans with hounds’ at home.

She made up for the lack of hounds on the beach though by being VERY vocal. We HEARD about EVERY new log she found and why it was that she just HAD to bring it with her.
Sam’s still a little nervous of the rougher waves but he’s slowly venturing further and further out into them. Once or twice I’m sure I saw his front legs start to paddle as if he’d lost his footing. I don’t think it’ll be long before he’s swimming out to fetch the logs with my hound.

In the meantime though, he stands chest-deep in the water waiting for Chocolat to reach him and then grabs the log to help bring it back to shore. He’s completely oblivious to the growls emanating from her. Carol reckons it’s because he’s an Aussie ... no finesse ....  I think he’s deliberately ignoring her growls to get a reaction from her.
They look so funny .... white and milk chocolate mousse racing out of the waves with a log firmly clasped in their jaws ... neither prepared to give an inch away to the other!

He’s a fast learner, this Sam the Man! He’s already fetching logs thrown into the shallows and bringing them back to us so we can throw them again ... he’s definitely NO ‘dumb Aussie’!

I got to try out the A77 today ... the camera I’m interested in, that is. I took my lenses and an SD card along to the camera shop and gave it a bit of a test drive. WOW ... it’s an awesome camera! I fiddled around with the images when I got home and printed them out ... the clarity and resolution is amazing. I KNOW I’m going to have great fun with it ... but it might have to wait till we’ve moved.

We’re surrounded by boxes at the moment ... here, there and everywhere. It’s amazing the paraphernalia a family of 5 can amass in 3 years. We have SO many books still ... I thought when we left SA we’d pared down our collection but packing them all yesterday made me realise we STILL have so many. There’s a reluctance to get rid of any though and it’s not just from me.

Roll on Saturday ....... yawn ....
