There are NO footprints in the sand ...

What you do every day matters more than what you do once in a while” ~ anon.
Waves washing over seagulls ... but they don't seem to mind.

I never want to lose the sense of wonder and awe I feel when I see nature’s beauty laid out before me in all it’s magnificence. It doesn’t have to be sunshine or rainbows or reflections that blow my mind ..... sometimes it’s just the little things.

There’s an ethereal beauty to a morning wreathed in mist .... I can just make out the brooding hulk of my favourite piece of real estate. If I didn’t know it was there, I could be forgiven for thinking there’s nothing but ocean in that direction. The mist hides it all .... it makes my whole world dreamy and unreal ..... secrets hidden from view.

I know that Pete at the Village Co-op thinks I visit Ladies Bay because of what it’s notorious for ... it’s nudists. He thinks I go down there to take photos of them .... hmmmmm ....but he’s wrong. I step into a different world when my feet touch the sand in the bay, particularly at dawn. Walk along the first bay and over the rocks and you feel as if you’ve left civilisation behind .... there are no footprints in the sand except mine and the hound’s .... the only sounds I can hear are the waves breaking on the shore and the gulls scouting for their morning meal.
It's the log she found yesterday ... she's delighted!

The clouds are edged in pink and gold as the sun pokes it’s head over the horizon. What a way to welcome in a new day .... it never fails to lift my spirits if I’m feeling down.

Nico and Fonzi having fun

The rainbows in my world this last week haven’t failed me .... they’re arbiters of good news and I received the best kind of good news from Julia this morning. Indy’s biopsy results are back and he doesn’t have cirrhosis of the liver ... he has under-developed blood vessels in his liver which prevent it from working properly. No medication is necessary just a change in diet to assist his liver in processing what he eats. Such good news for Julia and Scott but Indy might not agree. His days of hoovering the beach are over ... no longer can he eat whatever he can scavenge in the sand!
This puffed up gull reminds me of Aunt Marge from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Today was the warmest morning it’s been in a while. Bouncy Bella joined us towards the end of our ramble and, despite much encouragement from Suzanne,  lost interest in retrieving her ball from the waves. I had to wade into the water to encourage Chocolat to fetch it for her .... twice!! I very noisily made my way home .... squelching every step of the way. These shoes were VERY definitely made for walking .... and WADING!

What's this one trying to tell me .... "Feed me ... or else!!"

These two are hilarious ... they put on quite a show every day
I feel a chocolate craving coming on and there’s no chocolate in this house ... there’s a hound called Chocolat but she’s not edible. That’s one of the problems with having 4 young adults living in the same abode - food doesn’t remain in the pantry very long .... especially chocolate-like food. I have to hide it if I want to keep it to myself. The brain is in overdrive finding inventive places to hide a chocolate stash!

‘The cat that lived’ has adjusted well to being confined to the bedroom. We haven’t managed to block the feeding tube OR make her sick ... phew! Between Cayl’s, Dave, Callum and I we’re managing to keep on track with the hourly feeding but I must admit to looking forward to the day when she has the feeding tube removed!
"The CAT that lived" ... you can just see the wire on her nose that's part of what's holding her jaw together.
She can't open her mouth and the red tube is what we feed her through. She's looking good though
for the ordeal she's been through.

She finally managed to pick it up and carry it down the beach ... such strength in that jaw!

The same two gulls finishing their display.

Still misty this afternoon

My city this evening just before the sun started heading for bed.
