It's those SIMPLE things in life that are the most EXTRAORDINARY

The pinks of the rising sun reflecting of my waves
I don’t need to go anywhere to have a holiday ... all that I need is right here on my doorstep ... it’s paradise!

My world has been bathed in sunshine today ... it’s been absolutely idyllic! The skies are azure blue .... there are cotton wool clouds ..... and sunshine in abundance! Gareth and the hound and I have just
returned from having lunch at the beach ..... sandwiches, without the sand .... and sunshine .... and yes, there was eye-candy there too!!

My little village is humming - it looks vastly different in the middle of the day to what it looks like on my early morning rambles. There’s a busyness to it but not an unpleasant busyness. We see a lot of international tourists in our village .... being at the end of Tamaki Drive and in such a scenic setting makes it a must-see destination for overseas visitors ... especially those coming off the cruise ships.
The Kohi end of my beach

I think, like me, they see the vista as they crest the hill above the village and they’re blown away by how magical it looks ... especially on a day like today when the rays of the sun are dancing on the waves, casting sparkles in every direction. The palm trees are swaying gently in the breeze
and Rangitoto stands motionless out at sea reminding me that I live on the edge of a volcano! I don’t think I’ll ever tire of that view ... it’s the first impression I had of St. Heliers almost 3 years ago and it never fails to leave me breathless.

“What is this life, if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare.” WH Davies .... a Welsh, yep ... he would be, poet and writer who died in 1940.  A lot of his work is about the marvels of nature and the hardships of life.

I live in a magnificent spot and beautiful mornings like today remind me that life isn’t always painful .... there are always two sides to a coin and sometimes we have to experience the pain before the pleasure returns .... and return it always does. That’s another quote a friend found on FB.  FB is fast
More reflections!
becoming quite the arbiter of all things inspirational!!

On days like today I’m invincible ... nothing can knock me off my perch ... nothing can cast a shadow over the sunshine that’s invaded my space. Even my deepest darkest fears are banished to the back of my mind. Just for today I choose to be a multi-dimensional joy-bound gladiator of happiness .... just because I can.

My hound thinks I’m HER joy-bound gladiator of happiness .... her life revolves around mine. I move from my desk to the kitchen ..... or the laundry .... or the lounge .... and the shadow follows.  I think she’s secretly hoping I’m heading down to the beach again and she doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to walk in the waves!

It’s those simple things in life that are the most extraordinary ....

... the tickle of the waves breaking over my feet as the water infiltrates my shoes
.... the tingle of my taste buds as the aroma of freshly
brewed coffee assails them
...... the glimpse of the early morning butterfly as the sun warms up his wings
..... and the most special sight in my day today?
......... seeing Sebastian ambling slowly along with the light glowing in his eyes and a contented look on his face.

Days like this inspire me ... they make me believe in miracles .... they are the magical moments that you capture in your mind and never want to let go off.

Cottonwool clouds!

This evening's sunset ... lots of clouds filling the sky!
