I am SO over this rain .... getting wet on my rambles is something I don’t usually
mind but when I get wetter than wet that my shoes squelch, and plumes of water squirt out of them as I walk ... then I KNOW the rain needs to stop.
My plea is falling on deaf ears though - if anything, the rain is heavier now than what it was this morning. I don’t envisage having any less wet a walk tomorrow than what I did today ... or yesterday ... or the day before that .....
The hound of course doesn’t mind at all.
We're taking our Welsh ball to the beach! |
STRONG Labrador ... I can defeat any wave!” .... and sure enough, she can!
She is not deterred by anything. If there’s a rugby ball or log to be retrieved from the waves, retrieve it she will! Sometimes I wish I had just half her tenacity and courage ... no log is too large ... no ball too far.
Hmmm ... it begs the question ... is that tenacity or sheer stubbornness .... or does she maybe have an addictive personality? Hounds supposedly embody their owners but I’m not addictive at all ... and stubborn ... far from it!
I guess I could take a leaf out of her book ... look for the good things about the miserable weather and focus on them. When the weather’s appalling she attacks the waves with gusto ... retrieving the ball is no walk in the park, she has to really SWIM to reach it. When it’s raining like this I should chill out,
cuddle up on the couch and read a good book or watch a movie ... that would make the miserable weather more appealing!
The one thing I DO love about the rain are the raindrops!! No, not when they’re running down my neck ... but when the rain stops and they sit glistening on everything around me! They’re so perfect, crystal-clear .... they reflect my world back at me with startling clarity. As Confucious said “Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.”
I love watching the droplets roll down a leaf ... one droplet starts at the top, it bumps into another droplet and “eats” it. The new bigger droplet continues down the leaf “eating” all the little droplets on the way. It’s like playing Pacman ... except I’M not in control! Ha ... raindrops are so cool!
Hmmm ..... I just had another thought about the rain ..... it washes away all the scents and smells on the roads and verges. That means there’s no pee-mail for the hounds to read on their rambles and that’s not such a bad thing ... from Julia’s and my perspective that is ... Indy might not agree!
An amazing spider web ... couldn't find the resident spider! |
Our bunny rabbit has moved up the hill ... he's above the view site now. |
Bella met us in Glover Park .... she wants to chase that Welsh rugby ball!! |
