Even Indy got wet today ...

Today's sunset ...  so beautiful!
A wet morning!
EVEN Indy got wet today ..... we ALL got wet today .... VERY wet. It’s been one of those days when you wake in the morning to the sound of rain on the roof and you just know it’s going to be a wet ramble. I don’t mind rambling in the rain ... in fact, I quite enjoy it!
Oh yeah .... it's that raindrop thingy again!

When it’s raining hard a waterfall develops near the steps down to Ladies Bay ... I can hear the water rushing down the cliff and splashing into the sea below as I carefully negotiate the steep slope and the stairs.  It’s treacherous when it’s been raining hard .... thank goodness for the thick
tread on my shoes .... they’re marvelous for glueing me to the path even in these conditions. Julia’s not so fortunate and had a few slips on her way down.

Another high tide on Ladies Bay and I had to time it right to get on the rocks ...
every seventh wave is a big one so I count the waves and head for the rocks as the seventh wave retreats into the ocean. It’s such fun but I do sometimes get caught out and end up with soaking wet feet!!  Julia wouldn’t attempt it ... she wasn’t feeling great today but I also think she’s got more sense than me! I guess that’s not really difficult.

Julia bought the green balls for her this morning!
I think Indy's trying to tell Julia something!
A caffeine fix was essential this morning ... we needed to find Julia some ‘get up and go’! I think the combination of an early morning ramble, our crazy hounds and the caffeine fix did the trick ... she was keen to head for the Dell when we’d finished our coffee. The hounds are as addicted to caffeine as what we are ... they sit on the steps willing us to finish and give them the dregs ... I’m beginning to wonder who we get the coffee for in the morning .... them or us!!
The rain poured down while we were in the dell ... the Weeping Willow was REALLY weeping!

When it’s raining like it’s been today the ramblers and cyclists and joggers are conspicuous by their absence ... there are a few humans with hounds ... but not many. We’re an oddity, Julia and I, walking our dogs with the regularity we do .... a lady I’ve seen before told my hound how lucky she was
that I walked her every day come rain or shine. I must admit, I don’t just do it for the hound ... I find it amazingly therapeutic too. How else would I satisfy the cravings of my creative soul or find the ammunition for my blog ... it just wouldn’t happen if I didn’t ramble.
Amy, the 18week old Welsh Terrier tha we met in the Dell today

Getting acquainted
I’d miss out on some amazing sun rises ... on crazy people doing crazy things .... on walking in the waves with my hound when I’ve still got my shoes on! I’d miss the gloriously sunshiny mornings .... the wet misty ones when I can’t see further than the end of
the hound’s leash and I’d miss getting soaked to the skin in the rain!   I’d certainly miss getting rained on by my hound .... “No, it’s not raining .... it’s just Chocolat shaking” says Julia as we feel drops of what we think are rain. Yes ... my hound often makes us wet but this morning it wasn’t her fault we were drenched.
They're waiting for MORE coffee!!

Empty beaches!!  I guess that's expected when it's raining!
We thought we’d be a bit protected walking through the Dell .... all those tree canopies protecting us from the rain.  Ha ... not on your nelly .... all that happened was that the rain drops pooled together and PLOPPED in huge drops on our heads! We realised when we exited
the Dell that we’d have stayed drier if we’d walked around it rather than through it!

What does a girl need when she’s soaking wet and ready to head home .... a Passion fruit Cupcake from the Village Co-op .... YUM!! They are almost as addictive as our daily fix and totally irresistible!!
