"Instant nice person .... just add coffee!"

“Instant nice person .... just add coffee!” ..... that’s me!  Can’t begin my day without my daily fix .... the “grrrrr part of me surfaces ...... I’m a bit like my youngest when he hasn’t eaten .... impossible ....... short-tempered ...... sarcastic ....... but put some fuel in him and he’s a new man .... well almost!

I’m not sure if my caffeine addiction is a good thing or a bad thing .... it certainly helps me think straight .... and it definitely boosts my creativity .... it gives me energy in abundance .... which can only be a good thing when I consider the extent of our daily rambles.

The hound, on the other hand, has become a caffeine addict of note ..... she sits and “purrs .... well, her interpretation of purring - think she’s been taking lessons from Tiger

.... until I’m finished my coffee and give her the dregs.  Once finished with mine she’ll make a beeline for whoever might be with me and sit, staring fixedly at them, till they too surrender their dregs.  This could be the bad side of my caffeine addiction ... I’m not sure it’s good for my hound.

Our weather is atrocious ..... any cobwebs I might have had in my head were blown into the far reaches of the galaxy this morning .... we fought the wind every step of the way on Ladies Bay .... even the gulls were flying in reverse gear!  Thank goodness the hound doesn’t lift her leg when she wees!  It’s got worse as the day has progressed and so has my mood .... I don’t do wind!!

The monthly market yesterday was, for me, the best I’ve participated in so far in St. Heliers ... I made more sales than I have done in the 5 months I’ve had a stall there .... and, in addition, I have a couple of people to phone about commissioned work ... YAY!!  We have two more markets now before Christmas .... they should be busy and sales should be good.

The markets are fascinating .. you get to see a whole gamut of different souls .... we, Julie, Olga, myself and some of the other stall-holders, get to “people-watch” all day .... we see some of the oddest sights - and have a good chuckle .... and we get to chat to the most interesting people.  Despite that it’s not a hugely successful market, it gives me exposure in my community and many of the locals who stop at my stall are delighted when they realise the hound in my pics is the hound they see on the beach most mornings ... she’s becoming quite the celebrity!

I love what I do ...... I love that I get to create something beautiful .... and I love that I get to create memories ..... both for me and for other people.  Photography is my passion .... it allows me to keep forever in my mind the images of the beauty I see on a daily basis.  How blessed am I!  When the world gets on top of me ..... and the wind gets up my nose ..... I can retreat into the inner sanctuary of my mind and lose myself in the joy that’s there in abundance!

"Find a place inside where there's joy, and the joy will burn out the pain."~~Joseph Campbell~~
